Personal Best Personal Training was established in June of 2001 by Kathy Ekdahl, a certified personal trainer, certified strength and conditioning specialist, fitness instructor and yoga instructor. As the owner of a health club for 10 years, Kathy realized the tremendous benefit of one-on-one support and motivation, and launched Personal Best to provide this service to her clients.
Personal Best Personal Training offers personal training and complementary services, including:

We recognize the need for a multi-faceted, integrated fitness regimen and create a program incorporating exercise, healthy foods and life balance just for you. We develop our programs in collaboration with a network of health professionals that includes physicians, physical therapists, chiropractors, nutritionists, massage therapists, and personal coaches.
About Kathy Ekdahl
Kathy has devoted her entire career – over 30 years – to health and fitness. After spending 10 years in the medical field performing patient care in a clinical setting, she moved into the physical fitness domain and developed her expertise in teaching group fitness classes for all ages and fitness levels.
For 10 years, Kathy owned and operated The Aerobics Stop, a women-only health club in Marlborough, MA. where she developed programs for special needs populations such as seniors, the obese, and women and adolescent girls facing body image and self-esteem issues. In 2001, Kathy sold her health club to devote the rest of her fitness career to working 1 on 1 with her clients as a personal trainer.
Kathy is a personal trainer and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Kathy is also a yoga instructor and a certified coach with the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA). She coached varsity field hockey and lacrosse at Hudson High School, Hudson, MA. from 2001 until 2013. As the “first ever” girls lacrosse coach at HHS, Kathy was integral in the development of the girls lacrosse program. Kathy was an official for high school field hockey from 2010-2017 in central Massachusetts.
A master-class presenter and lecturer to fitness professionals and exercise enthusiasts, Kathy has taught numerous workshops and fitness training certification classes. She is also the author of numerous articles and ebooks, addressing topics such as:

Kathy is an avid golfer and is an expert in golf fitness. She is certified by the Titleist Performance Institute since 2007 and has completed the Level 2 Fitness Certification through TPI. She was employed by The International Golf Club, Bolton, MA, as a staff personal trainer from 2007-2011 and trained golfers throughout Metro West Massachusetts until 2020, when she moved to Mashpee, Mass. Currently, Kathy works at Willowbend Country Club as the lead Golf Fitness Trainer, working with all levels of golfers, from teaching pros to high handicappers.
Kathy is the author of Getting Golf Ready – An Introduction to Golf Fitness, available through Amazon. She has been featured as a golf fitness expert in IDEA magazine, a trade journal for the fitness industry, and is a monthly video contributor to The Mass Golf Association’s “Up and Down” newsletter for women since 2020.
Kathy has been blogging since 2003. She truly was a pioneer in the area of fitness blogging. Kathy has received numerous awards and recognition for her long history of providing great fitness information for her clients and the general public. Recently, she was recognized by expertido.org for her blogging.
